North High Students and Parents, Attention any students who are currently enrolled in an off-campus class (Career Academy, Harry Hopkins, or a Regional Pathway course at W.I.T.C.C.) Beginning November 6, 2025, if a student is currently failing TWO or more CORE classes (graduation requirements in English, math, science, and social studies) at their home building, our school counselors will be communicating with those students and families to explain the following: If the student is still failing TWO or more CORE classes at their home building on December 5, 2025, that student will be withdrawn from their out-of-building classes without an “F” on their transcript. They will also lose their out-of-building privileges.Beginning December 8th, the student will be scheduled into an intervention back at their home building for the remainder of 1st semester to replace the classes or out-of-building privileges they were withdrawn from.If they have a 2nd semester off-campus class or out-of-building privilege, they will be ineligible for those off-campus classes and out-of-building privileges as well. The student will continue in intervention, and/or be scheduled for credit recovery.The student will not be eligible to take another off-campus class or have out-of-building privileges until the 2026-2027 school year.

North High School – Drivers Education Spring 2026
The Sioux City Community School District (SCCSD) plans to offer one session of driver education
class this Spring at North High School. The class will start on Monday January 12th, 2026 and run
for 6 weeks finishing on Saturday February 21st, 2026. Dates could change due to weather or
COVID regulations. Class times and drive sessions will be assigned after student registrations are
completed.
Classroom sessions will be held Monday through Thursdays after school from 3:05 to 4:30 pm with
driving lessons being held on Mondays through Saturdays to ensure we end in six weeks. Students
will be assigned 1 driving day session per week in addition to the 20 classroom sessions. Start and
End dates could change or vary due to weather or illness outbreak.
Registration for Spring Traffic Education will begin on Monday, December 8th, 2025 at 7 pm
(the enclosed link will not work until December 8th, 2025 at 7 pm) with the deadline for all registrations ending on Friday December 12th, 2025 or once spots are all filled. Spots are filled on a first come first serve basis. Cost for the class will be $385. (School fee waivers are accepted for reduced price of $175 or free).
In order to register STUDENTS MUST MEET THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
1. The student must be 14 years of age.
2. The student must have a valid Iowa learner’s permit.
3. A complete deposit for the class fee must be made to the high school you are registering at
in order to be completely registered.
Registration forms must be filled out online only and will be processed in the order in which they
were received. Spaces are limited to 24 students. The bookkeeper will call students in to process
payment or verify school waiver qualification.

He partnered with the Sioux City Public Schools Foundation and Sioux City Musketeers on a campaign called Hockey and Helping Hands, collecting dozens of needed supplies.
